Job Summary

The Workforce Development Coordinator/Instructor will be responsible for implementing, and teaching a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) integrated workforce development curriculum and lessons that are tailored to the specific needs of diverse communities, with a special focus on Latino and other marginalized groups. This role will involve organizing program activities, coaching participants, and offering support to assist them in reaching their career objectives.

Specific Job Duties

1. Curriculum Development:

  • Design and develop culturally relevant workforce development curricula and training materials tailored to the needs of Latino and marginalized communities.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in current programming and areas for development.
  • Outreach and Collaborate with community stakeholders to ensure program relevance and impact.

2. Instruction and Facilitation:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions on job readiness, resume writing, interview skills, career planning, and other workforce development topics.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and educational levels to include in person and online
  • Develop and implement hands-on activities, simulations, and real-world applications to enhance learning experiences.

3. Participant Support:

  • Conduct one-on-one career coaching sessions to help participants set career goals and develop individualized career plans.
  • Provide ongoing support, mentorship and guidance to participants throughout their job search and career development process.
  • Assist participants in overcoming barriers to employment, such as lack of transportation, childcare, or professional attire.

4. Community Engagement and Partnership Building: o Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to create job placement opportunities and enhance program offerings. o Develop partnerships with community leaders and stakeholders to promote program visibility and support. o Represent the organization at community events, job fairs, and networking opportunities.

5. Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of participant progress, program activities, and outcomes using CRM software.
  • Track and analyze program data to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and make data-driven improvements.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to organizational leadership, funders, and other stakeholders.

6. Outreach and Recruitment:

  • Work with BFIL Outreach Coordinator to implement outreach strategies to recruit participants from target communities.
  • Create promotional materials and conduct informational sessions to raise awareness about program offerings.
  • Build relationships with schools, community centers, and other organizations to recruit potential participants.

7. Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in workforce development, cultural competence, and adult education.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Share new insights and techniques with the team to continuously improve program quality.

8. Administrative Support:

  • Perform administrative tasks related to program operation, such as maintaining participant files, managing correspondence, and coordinating schedules.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure smooth program operation and participant support.

9. Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Collect and analyze feedback/Surveys from participants to assess satisfaction and areas for improvement.
  • Implement changes based on participant feedback to enhance program effectiveness and relevance.
  • Conduct regular program evaluations to measure impact and identify opportunities for growth.

10. Other Duties as required to include set up of meeting space

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workforce development, adult education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, particularly Latino and marginalized communities.
  • Strong understanding of cultural competence and ability to incorporate cultural relevance into program design and delivery.
  • Excellent instructional and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate participants.
  • Proficiency in data tracking and CRM software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Kahoot!, CANVA, and Google Workspace.
  • Bilingual/Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Travel required for community outreach, training, and program delivery/presentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with curriculum and lesson plan development and instructional design.
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and employer needs.
  • Experience in case management and providing individualized support to clients.
